Shining NUKAZUKE. Happiness of reading books. How are you?
I continue to make NUKAZUKE since when I made my new year's resolution of this year. I found making a notch is effective to absorb nuka and salt easily. This NUKADOKO that nuka and water and salt are mixed looks like gold autumn. Perhaps, the King's color. If touching it, it'd be a change of pace.
Anyway, the oldest Chinese dictionary called JIGA says like salty dish in China on BC 3. Meanwhile, in Japan, at Heijoukyou it's found that maybe food of tukemono. Carrots are grown in mainly Hokkaido, Chiba Pre. and Tokushima Pre. as accounting for 60% of total consumption in Japan. The total is about 600,000 ton every year.
Also, people called a disease Edo wazurai (Edo disease) that is kind of being short of vitamins without whole rice, so to speak, they began to eat white rice a lot. Speaking of EU, it'd be like a topic of whole wheat and white bread. Of course, in those days people didn't have much food like modern era.
Incidentally, as you know there are made many kinds of pickles all over the world. I'd like to try them soon! By the way, two typhoons went through Japan. I pray for affected areas. So, longevity, everyone!

I'm so happy to eat delicious nashi (Japanese pear). This is too delicious not to shed a tear in Iwaki though our ones were the best at Okuma in those days. It's perfect to heal fatigue of summer. My wife Hiroko bought them. Thanks.

It seems it's really summer. Maybe September would be hot, but getting colder little by little. Step by step. I had taken a break from facebook and twitter for 2 weeks this months. It was very rare for me. It was just because I was busier than usual, so I thought I'd rather get this opportunity to concentrate studying languages or reading books more. It was successful.
And surprisingly, Leslie Kee came Fukushima, who is one of most famous photographers in the world, and Leslie took a photo of us. I'm really honored to meet with them and I gave our magazines in appreciation. If you'd like to see Leslie Kee, there are videos on YouTube. Of course, everyone might see Leslie's photos already anywhere. We really thank my old friend Sizuka san and everyone. Then, my wife and I went to cafe at Okuma town.
This bread with Qi power salt that has been at Isetan in Shinjuku, Tokyo. That reminds me what I studied pressure points when I was 20 years old. This was because I thought it was great to have a skill of that without any tools, just with hands and knowledge. By the way, recently I bought a mat called, "Itai ashi tubo mat (like, Painful legs pressure points mat)." It's really effective. I think it'd be truly popular in the world from now on from this post. Hehe, but joking aside, it's true flip-flops is originally created from a Japanese and an American in Japan after WW2 (so, people can make peaceful worlds).

Hi, everyone. I made a video with English subtitles to convey a message from Fukushima.
20220731
*My blog on this day is only written in Japanese. I was just busy. If you don't mind, here it is in Japanese. Same photo.
20220717
I finish my public work for this season. I spent some hours at a cafe, "Alleluia(הללויה)" in Japanese, "晴れる家" but this phrase means like, "sunny home" with those Kanjis.
Recently I began a youtuber to share knowledge of healthy living from books. Facebook or Twitter etc. are surely fun, but YouTube gives us another kind of fun hours.
I hope to speak in English on YouTube someday, but for the time being in Japanese. Anyway, I'd like to share information with everyone, "I'm doing well" like a letter.
20220710
We voted in election of House of Councilors 2022, going shopping daily necessaries and dropping in a cafe of Onigiri in front of the exit of Iwaki Chuo highway in Iwaki city.
Also, I happily continue to study knowledge of healthy living. I bought Campbell Essential Biology (in Japanese).
By the way it's coming a dangerous season of band shaped rain fall areas, so praying for the peace and safety from that virus, being fed up with wearing a mask.
Anyway, this some years I see some provers everyday in languages. Short temper causes loss. Life is but an empty dream. Love begets love. Campa, cavallo, che l'erba cresce (Italian. "Horse, you should survive because grasses grow good soon.")
20220701
I appear in a famous newspaper "Mainichi Shimbun."
20220630
I appear in a famous local newspaper "Fukushima Minyu Shimbun."
20220612
I appear in a famous newspaper "The Asahi Shimbun."

Shindo (Japanese earthquake level) is 5 in Fukushima Hamadori (seashore) area. Are you all right? We are good. I had some bread. Earthquakes happen every year. Deeply breathing. Well well, rebuilding and earthquakes, ...everything is in a state of flux.

It's been three months to write here. Things have only settled down little by little recently. I cleaned our big warehouse as well as I could and convey so many books. That's why, I needed some consecutive holidays to see movies. According to the public report of our town, on July, our area is gonna be finished as off limit area.
After buying some tableware (but we don't have any cupboards at our new house of reconstruction yet), we greeted an acquaintance who restarted living in Ogawara area of Okuma town, where is already finished as off limit area some years ago (Our area Shimonogami area of Okuma town is the next. But other areas are not planed at all yet actually for these 11 years). Our house is earliest in the area as the recovery area in our town. The terrain of Futaba county is still the almost same, but new empty house, new empty land, but I miss everyone.

Opening the window, seeing the blue sky and it's very silent around here closely to the mountains of Hamadori area (means Ocean Street area) in Fukushima without TV news.
This disaster reminds me of 311 in 2011. After all, I feel it's dangerous to live along the river or sea. Have a safe day.
1m or 3m Tsunami seem to come to very big area in Japan. 8 prefectures. Especially IWATE, Amami and Tocara islands. Stay safe.
On the last week we went to the restaurant of ramen where is called, "Kourakuen" you know it's very famous ramen and their name is Kiden ramen which revived again in about 15 years. It reminds me of a good old memory. Delicious.
By the way, about "When the week starts in Japan?" seems to be from Sunday or Monday in Japan (from Website of Statistics Bureau of Japan). Because Jewish or Christianity begins like that.
Seeing the red line or yellow line as dangerous areas holds the whole Japan on TV news, I'd like to write a diary like, "Laws of reconstructions from the disasters are really inadequate. More than 10 years since the 11th of March in 2011. We must feel shame.
I saw two women in the Europe and US who are worried about Japan on Twitter. Thankful to see them. Seeing their accounts, there are people who want to come and stay in Japan, but under this pandemic it seems now difficult unfortunately. But I hope the government opens ASAP.
Our magazine "WELTGEIST FUKUSHIMA" sometimes are rarely sold all volumes, but I'm really thankful to great readers and writers and editors. Miracles of meetings. Someday I'd like to write in English.
A part of Tsunami alert changed to Tsunami advisory now (at noon) like the others of Japan. Relieved to hear that.
20220109
We had amazake called "Kibou kyou" which means like, "We remember back to hometown." It's non alcohol though "sake" is included in the word. I began to make Nukazuke which is like a kind of Japanese pickles as one of Tukemono. It was easier than I thought. Japanese burdock. Japanese radish. Japanese Kintoki carrot. My wife looked happy to eat them. My mother, too.
Especially, Kintoki ninjin is harvested in Kagawa Pre. Kintoki carrots in Kagawa account for 80% because the government forcedly let all of farmers to quit a part of rice fields because rice around 1961 was too much, so they worked on it since 1971 to 2018, but the work was too hard for all farmers, so many problems happened. Each vegetable has its own great story. Anyway, it's up to your imagination. Thankful.
20220105
I'd like to read 1000 books this year. At least I hope the result will be 300 books or 1000 books. Also, I post a part of them with my review on Twitter in mainly Japanese. And I'd like to learn English etc. as is usual with me. Then, how about reading in English? I hope it'd be 50 or 150 thin books.
20220102
Very cold recently so it may be that so many people don't go to the shrine etc. this year. Anyway, almost things in life depend on thought of oneself. I'd like to enjoy myself always. I have wakamizu (first water to drink every year) and see the first sunrise and kakizome (first shodou to write every year) of New year's resolution. I'd like to read many books this year.
Osechi is delicious which my wife cooked. Osechi Ryouri (dish) is cooked when originally five Sekku every year (e.g. momo no sekku), but nowadays it means usually dish to eat during O Shougatsu. Firstly sacred the dish are offered to gods of Shinto or so and then people have it together therefore they get gods' spiritual mysterious power or soul inside themselves.
People cook and put osechi into Juubako which is constructed double or triple for the double or triple fortunate of the year. It might be like superstition, but we don't think it as "superstition" and we do it as "Engi wo katsugu." It's a kind of action to pray for happiness. Offered to gods at Kamidana (a place like a shelve in the house for the gods), the food is called "shinsen." Shinsen is usually Sake, salt, water, or rice or vegetables or so. People call something to eat is Mike and something to drink is Miki in this case.
I enjoyed seeing a fighting sports called "RIZIN" to see especially Asakura Mikuru at Omisoka of 2021. He is great on YouTube. Of course every fighter as gentle person is great.
I remember it was October to finish the fifth wave of that virus media panic, but overseas it might take time more and more. I pray for everyone's happiness, directly checking data.
This year's winter is very cold. Much snow everywhere in Japan. It was very cold at Okuma on Omisoka. It was trouble a little when returning for shivering. Around the road of Rokkoku (National road No. 6), buildings are getting knocked down.
I thought old life once upon a time was great because it was very cold at a house which has many gaps to get the wind. I was wondering how people survive then. General people didn't have great bedding (futon). Usually everyone used an outer garment as bedding inside a shallow wooden box to sleep. That's why, people's lives were short then not global warming. Much wind and snow. I remember when I was a child, I made a kamakura by snow. Anyway, folklore of Japan let me feel great culture of general people. I pray for everyone's happiness.
Photo: Our Japanese pear fields got snow at Omisoka, 2021. Why there are not so many weeds is that we continue to mow by tractors all year long.

The 1st of January, 2022
We pray for your happiness.
